International Airport 'Jose Maria Cordova'
Summoned in Rionegro Village at 30/kms or 19/miles of Medellin it's the main port of the city. If you come directly to Medellin, surely you will arrive to 'JMC'. From JMC to Medellin Downtown you will spend 30 to 45 minutes depending if you use a cab or limousine. Cab's price it's close to US$20 or CO$40.000, I don't recommend you to take anyone foy your safety, especially if you arrive at night or early morning, it's better and safer if you previously contract any cab from a company. Many hotels pay this service and could get you at airport and then take you to hotel directly. That's why it's better to have a previosly hotel reservation and don't search for a hotel with your baggage. There's a limousine service too, this is so much cheap. Just US$3.50 or CO$7.000 per head, they'll carry you to Medellin Downtown, last stop is behind 'Hotel Nutibara', the most traditional and classic hotel of the city (very recommendable
).
Inside 'Jose Maria Cordova', you can find too a lil' mall; handmade stores, liquours, fastfood and 'paisa' food restaurants, banks, pharmacies, longdistance calls, Money Exchange, info points, free internet wireless and so on.

The price depend how long are you going, but to be honest, compare with europeans and northamerican cities are very cheap.
Buses
In Medellin bus system transport it's not very adequate. Very disorganized, some times dangerous and generate great percentage of pollution. Even this way, some times you'll have to use this transport way.
There are a lot of bus circuits that will take you to all zones in Medellin. You have to pay CO$1.200 per head and pay them directly to driver.
Metro
City's Metro it's probably the most important masive transport way for 'paisas'. Metro began operation in 1995, and it cross the city from north to south, from north to northeast, from downtown to west and from west to northwest. It moves around 486.433 passangers per day.
